Work From Home & Nutrition

One of the things my friends have joked about is that ever since they’ve started to work from home, the dishwasher has been going nonstop. I’m sure that many of us can agree. It’s probably a safe bet to say that many of us have been finding ourselves eating things we normally wouldn’t. I’m not one to patrol someone else’s eating habits but let’s talk about ways to make sure we’re eating some nutritious food as well as our comfort food!

Work From Home & Nutrition

Even while I was working from home, I would still write out my weekly meal plan. I tend to plan out my bigger meals and give myself some options for snacks throughout the day. This gives me the structure I need and keeps me from bringing up UberEats on my phone. However, during these stressful times, I gave myself some leeway and allowed myself a few more delivery meals.

The meals I did cook at home, I tried to get in some extra veggies and nutrients. Even with grocery delivery, getting a shopping cart loaded with veggies is important. It’s easy to make box meals but trying new things will give you something to look forward to. Having a “new” dinner once or twice a week would mix it up and even give your partner or family a chance to join in! Using dinner time as a way to relax and unwind from work (even if it is at home) is a great way to de-stress.

Finding healthy meal recipes and the corresponding ingredients can be a bit of a hassle. However, this is where Platejoy comes in! Platejoy gives you many different meal options and gives you a detailed ingredient list. The best part is that you can send that ingredient list automatically to Instacart and Amazon Fresh. If you’re looking for Vegan or Vegetarian meals, Platejoy can help. There are even recipes for batch meals that you can make on the weekend and enjoy the whole week. Want to satisfy that sweet tooth? There are also dessert recipes that you can try. Dessert is definitely needed as you work from home.

You can plan as many meals as you want for the week and even swap meals around. There’s a section where you can enter in all the pantry items you currently have. This will give you recipes where you have the majority of the ingredients and reduce your grocery bill. Yet another way meal planning is good for you!
