Why I’m Thankful For Running!

It seems like I’ve been gone for a second and that’s because life caught up to me. I’m breathing a breath of fresh air as Thanksgiving is around the corner. Since it is gratitude week, why not share why I’m thankful for running!

Why I’m Thankful For Running: The People

Prior to the world shutting down, I was a part of running groups. I met so many cool people and loved running with people from many backgrounds. Since then my life and schedule has changed so I don’t attend those groups anymore. However I have my Peloton friends that I see often on the leaderboard. I love running with my friends virtually and it truly helps me get through classes knowing I have friends with me.

Why I’m Thankful For Running: The Stress Relief

Working out gives me a sense of peace, no matter what’s going on in my life. However there’s something different about running. It gives me this different level of peace that no other exercise gives me. I think the full body motion takes me to a different headspace. Obviously it doesn’t magically fix every problem but sometimes a run will help me figure out the next step. There’s been many runs that have helped me make work or life decisions.

Why I’m Thankful For Running: It’s Always There For You

Running is a workout that you can do anywhere. I can take a break from running but jump back in whenever I want. Obviously it will feel different but it’s always available to me. Gyms and other workouts depend on a lot of variables but with a good pair of running shoes, you’re off to a good start. This year, running has taken a bit of a backseat but I know that joy of running is waiting for me as soon as I lace up again.

As we head into Thanksgiving, let me know a few things you’re thankful for this year!
