Staying Safe with Road iD!
Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was spent staying active despite my recent break from running. If you have no clue what I’m talking about, check out my last blog post! To start off the week on the right foot, I wanted to pop in and share my appreciation for the Road iD. I was lucky enough to receive a Sidekick ID for my Garmin and it’s been absolutely wonderful!

I’m sure you’ve probably heard of Road iD. This company makes is super easy to carry emergency and medical information with you. They have wrist IDs, shoe IDs, and the Sidekick ID which fits Fitbit and Garmin bands. They even have an iD for your pets! If you’re a runner or just live an active lifestyle, this can come in handy. As a runner, it’s always good to let someone know you’re going out for a run and when to expect you. However, this fully customizable plate is on your watch and always with you!
When I was in college, I was an event where I was not allowed to have my cell phone on me. It was a very hot day in May and I clearly had not hydrated properly. I ended up fainting and requiring medical attention. In my awful state, I could not remember my husband’s phone number for the life of me. I don’t have any allergies or medical issues but I was just not able to properly answer the EMS team. They took all necessary precautions but my husband grew worried when I wasn’t back when I was supposed to be. Long story short, we did find each other and I was fine but I KNOW that if I had my Sidekick ID, EMS would have been able to reach him.
If you have any medical allergies or special needs, the Sidekick ID is perfect for letting first responders know. It simply attaches to the Garmin or Fitbit band so you don’t have to worry about having to wear something else! Road iD even makes an online Emergency Response Profile that you can purchase where you can store even more information than what is printed on your Sidekick ID. It’s totally secure and you can update it any time!
