SlapLit Review!

So I got this nifty item from a friend but it’s so cool that I decided I should so a post about it! I am an early morning runner so that means it’s basically pitch black when I’m out. I use a head lamp but I’ve always wanted something reflective.

Unfortunately, I’ve had my share of close calls in my old neighborhood. There were parts of my route that were very well lit and some that weren’t. I would like to blame the drivers who didn’t see me even though I was CLEARLY there but, I’m sure a reflective vest or bracelet would have made me just a tad more noticeable.

So! This nifty product is a slap bracelet. Yes, just like the things we used to slap on each other at school. It’s made of reflective material so when light shines on it, it’s pretty bright! It’s yellow so you can definitely see it.

But the think that sets it apart from other reflective bracelets or bands is that this one has light! This one in particular shone red and it was pretty bright. It has two settings: steady light or blinking. I like it because it is sturdy and I don’t have to worry about it falling off or coming undone. I wore it on my right wrist and once I was off, I forgot I even had it on.

The outer reflective material is a similar to soft plastic so sweat or water wouldn’t really mess it up. Although I wouldn’t recommend submerging it, of course. I wore it in an evening run when it was hot and muggy so there was plenty of sweat. A quick wipe down was all it took to clean it up.

As far as brightness goes, Jordan said he could see me across the lake with the red light and whenever the bracelet would catch light from the path lamps. I’m sure having something like this would help motorists see you during your night runs.

I would definitely recommend this to runners who like to avoid the heat by running early in the morning or in the evening. Safety is such a big concern for runners so I would recommend at least one item made with reflective material. It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to being seen on your runs

I absolutely love this gadget. If you’re looking for reflective gear, I would give this a try!
