Weekend Update!

I’m typing this up laying on the couch trying to stay awake. It’s been a crazy weekend!

RunningSaturday was my long run and it actually went well! I ran seven miles in the morning. My legs definitely handled it better than I did mentally, haha! I definitely had to keep giving myself a pep talk toward the end.

My sweet husband helped me set up an ice bath once we got home. I know seven miles may not seem like much but my legs needed it. I was so hot that the ice melted quickly but the cool water helped my legs.

The hubby and I were able to enjoy a movie soon after my run and I pretty much wanted to eat everything in sight. I did start feeling a bit stiff during the movie but once we left the theater I felt better. Y’all should check out The Magnificent Seven! Definitely an action movie that my husband was drooling over, haha!

A great blessing was being able to save money for Jordan’s bike! We have been trying to get something for him for a while and started putting money aside. On Saturday we hit up the bike store and finally got his bike! He was definitely a kid in a candy store as he was riding around the shop.

He was so happy riding up and down the street!

I was eyeing all the bars, energy gels, and race snacks. I will have to start thinking about this and start trying out some of these during my long runs. Do you guys have any tips?

Also, we had to take Snowflake for a quick vet check up Saturday afternoon so I was pretty wiped after all the days activities. We were all ready for bed pretty early in the evening!

Sunday came quickly and we went out for our first run together! I was so sure that my legs were going to be sore and I was just going to be a mess but I was truly surprised when I woke up pain free! I think the ice bath and my stretching helped. Jordan rode his bike alongside me and helped me keep my pace as I ran.

It was so nice to run around our neighborhood and talk to him. It was only a three mile run but it went by pretty quick with him by my side. He will be joining me for my weekend runs throughout training.

The rest of the day was spent with church, laundry, and meal prep! I’m trying out a five day meal plan that my friend put together so I’m ready for that. I’ve been running out of ideas and definitely need some motivation.

I have a fun week ahead and might even bump up to two-a-days to test my legs. I can only get better from here!

Did you guys anything interesting this weekend? Let me know!
