The Weekend To Recover

Well, it’s been a while since I stopped by! Unfortunately, Jordan’s grandmother passed away last weekend so we were swept up in everything. We spent most of the week in Kansas to pay our respects. His grandmother was a great woman and was well loved by everyone. She welcomed me in as soon as she met me and always took care of Jordan like she was his own child. Mrs. Bonnie Jones will be missed.

Jordan and I arrived back to Houston Thursday night. As soon as we landed, I high tailed it to the gym to get some fresh air. Traveling makes me anxious and this was a rough time so I needed a bit of familiarity to ease my nerves.

Saturday

Summer is in full swing in Houston and it’s absolutely scorching hot! I made the mistake of sleeping in on Saturday before a run. The sun was already out before we went started our run. I ran while Jordan rode his bike. My legs were still a bit sore from traveling and the workouts I did on Thursday and Friday. If my legs weren’t exhausted, I really believe the run would have been enjoyable. I ran at a pace that felt comfortable and I was surprised to see the pace my watch showed!

After the run, Jordan and I went to get protein shakes. There’s a place in town that makes a banana and strawberry shake Jordan really loves. Now, whenever he suggests getting shakes, I’m all for it!

The rest of the day was spent staying indoors and trying to replenish our fluids since we were soaked in sweat after our run.

I received some fun stuff in the mail in the afternoon. This is my second Influenster box and I have more amazing makeup to review. I was also excited for a new tshirt from Unico Nutrition. I just love the simple but colorful design!

Sunday

It was nice to have a normal Sunday for once! Jordan and I enjoyed a nice breakfast and slow morning before church. It was nice to be home and back in our routine. We stopped by Überrito for lunch on our way home. It was delicious!

The heat was bad as it had been all week and my poor plant was wilting. I watered it while Snowflake did her business. We have been keeping an eye on her too because of the heat and only let her out for small amount of time.

Also, does anyone know what kind of plant this is? My mom gave this to me but I have no clue what it is. I guess I’ll keep watering it until something blooms or grows, haha!

The rest of the day was spent doing our normal chores. Laundry and meal prep were a breeze and I actually look forward to eating well this week. Traveling definitely messed up my insides.

How was your weekend?
