I’ve been working on adding back the miles and getting my legs used to fatigue and recovery. My goal for this month is to build endurance and to get in a few days of spin AND run so my legs can get used to that “spent” feeling that I experience at the end of races. By being comfortable with the uncomfortable, progress gets easier!

The age old question that has plagued many runners; should you run with music? I’m sure you’ve seen runners on trails with their phones tucked safety in their arm bands (or the stubborn few who hold them while running!). When I’m running at the park on weekends, I can count on one hand runners who don’t run with headphones. So I use running as “me time”. I go through phases in training where I actually run without music. I listen to my breathing and really focus on my cadence. Depending on where I’m running, I sometimes go without headphones for safety reasons.
