Mellow Weekend!

As I’m typing this up, I’m sipping some peppermint tea. I’ve really tried hard this week to lay off the caffeine and just make time to meditate and relax. I’ve even got my Google calendar set up with reminders to meditate and appointments for time to relax. I also swapped my coffee for tea! It’s been great to really just take a step back. That meant this was a mellow weekend!

Mellow Saturday

I made a deal with myself earlier in the week that I would do yoga and stretch daily. In doing so, if my hip felt better, I would attempt to run on Saturday. I am happy to report that I ran on Saturday! I only got in four miles but it was nice to be able to get back out there again. It’s been an internal struggle because I just want to get better quickly. dscn5335-2

After my run and Jordan’s bike ride, we spent the day watching shows and relaxing! Jordan recently got hooked on Agents of Shield because he loves Ghost Rider so we spent the day catching up on that! I was so glad to just relax and rest my legs. It’s purely mental but I really had to fight to keep going on my run. I haven’t done too much cardio for an extended period of time lately.

That afternoon, we did some yard work and gave my car a much needed wash. It looked like a whole new car once I was done! I had to remind myself that it was good that the day was a much slower pace because it gave us time to connect and enjoy each other.

Another thing that I am able to do with extra time and energy is bake! I love finding recipes to try, especially during the holidays! I made a delicious daily free pumpkin loaf last week and I attempted peanut butter candy cookies from scratch this week. The picture doesn’t so it justice. Mellow Sunday

Sunday was great. I did another three miles and managed it well. I have an appointment with a Sport’s Medicine clinic so I hope I hear good news and have a plan for treatment. I need to get this show on the road!

Vegetable and Lentil Soup!

Sunday evening was spent making a DELICIOUS vegetable and lentil soup for the week so now I just need the fall weather and I am golden!
