Foods That Fight The Bloat

Happy Friday! I hope you had a lovely week and you’re heading into the weekend on a good note! Now, I know that we all try our best to eat well but sometimes, it just doesn’t happen. Occasionally, I’ll get invited to lunches with customers or vendors and the food choices are less than stellar. While I try not to make a big deal about, I usually end up paying the price. I had some fried food yesterday and my stomach was not happy. However, there’s some foods that fight the bloat and get back to feeling like your normal self quickly!

Foods That Fight The Bloat!

Foods That Fight The Bloat #1: Apple Cider Vinegar

Now this one seems super weird but it’s an easy fix. ACV helps maintain normal levels of gut bacteria and can get rid of bloating. Whenever you are dealing with stomach upset, ACV will get everything working again. Some people can take it straight but I would recommend one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water. Not only will it make the taste more tolerable but it will be easier on your stomach. You don’t want to add more discomfort if you’re already not 100%!

Foods That Fight The Bloat #2: Carrots

Veggies are usually my go to whenever I’m dealing with bloating. My stomach tends to be upset when I eat something different than my usual so that’s why veggies make it better! Carrots are actually a good choice to fight stomach bloat because they contain a good amount of potassium. PotassiumĀ helps our kidneys get rid of excess sodium and help reduce stomach bloating.

Foods That Fight The Bloat #3: Green Tea

Whenever something isn’t feeling right, I tend to reach for my teas! Green tea is great because it’s a diuretic. I wouldn’t necessarily suggest overdoing it with the green tea but it does help get everything under control after indulging. Again, your system is probably responding to getting thrown out of a routine. Green tea will start your digestive process and help reduce pressure build up and bloating.

Foods That Fight The Bloat #4: Avocado

Y’all, who doesn’t love avocado? One reason why you may be dealing with bloating is because your diet may not be balanced. By adding avocado to your diet, you’re not only getting some more potassium, but you’re also getting a good source of healthy fats. These healthy fats aid with digesting and can also help reduce the occurrence of bloating. I call that a win!
